Very comfortable and well equipped holiday home in a lovely location.

The location is great, overlooking the water and very quiet but close to Milford Haven.

On arrival, the parking arrangements were a little confusing, signage would have been advantageous. The details show there is an enclosed garden, but it's not really a garden, just an enclosed slabbed patio overlooking the water at the back of the property. Cleanliness wasn't that great, one of the throws on the settee had a piece of bacon in it so had obviously not been washed for ages, and there were crumbs between the cushions and dead flies and bits of fluff on the floors. On leaving, when we removed the bottom bed sheet in the main bedroom, we discovered there was no mattress protector and the mattress was stained. All of the plugholes in each bathroom as well as the kitchen were just open holes so it was really easy to accidentally drop stuff down them and the toaster only worked on one side. Overall the layout of the property was good, if a bit more care and attention was made it could have been lovely...it just felt unloved and a bit basic.

We’ve stayed at Heron some years ago so was pleased to find the place as nice as our first stay.

It has become a little care worn in places which is no surprise having had many people stay over the years. We found the place clean tidy and comfortable however on removing the bed linen we weren’t impressed with the poor state of the pillows duvet and mattress protector which we feel all need renewing being stained and very worn. This is we feel the one thing that lets the property down hence the 4 stars

Heron was great for a week of R&R over Christmas, - WHEN we managed to warm it up.

Didn't want to bother the contact unless urgent. We arrived after a long journey from Oxford to a COLD house. The cleanliness and VERY welcome fizz and Welsh cakes (also tea, coffee, milk) told us that someone had been in recently, so heating could have been switched on. Thereafter ~ lovely. Especially watching the bird life. A relevant bird book would have been a great asset. Everything we needed. The turkey tin was a really thoughtful addition, and the decorations a delight. Plus, thank you for the OS map. Heron would be wonderful for a spring/summer/autumn holiday - living on the terrace. Star rating only 4 because of cold arrival.

A nice cottage in a great location.

Excellent , spacious accommodation.

Well equipped and stunning views of the river estuary. Listing states parking for 2 cars but it is then not obvious where this is as it is away from the property. We did park both cars easily but were concerned whether we were in the correct car park. Instructions on where this parking is would be useful. Postcode also does not take you to the property but luckily we had looked on google satellite and knew where we were heading.

Great outlook from the rear patio of the estuary, parking close by and very quiet residential area. The property had everything you needed to make your stay memorable. Great owner responded to my text about a small issue in the house and the problem was resolved within 1 hour fantastic service very happy with everything.

Fabulous accommodation.

Went with my two daughters and took our two dogs. Lovely secure balcony looking over the river, and close access via steps to a small shingle beach.Lovely spacious property and was nice to all have our own bathrooms. Private car park just a short walk away. Easy check in and out, although 10am is earlier than we're used to. Would 100% recommend and will return. Lots to see locally, and some great dog friendly beaches - Broadwater is especially good with easy access. Supermarkets (Lidl and Tesco) are nearby - around 5 minutes by car, so easy to buy supplies once there.

Absolutely lovely cottage, we went with my 2 teenage sons and so lovely for them to have there own bathrooms, lovely open living space so we could all come together, the terrace is lovely and we had 2 bbq's

I am repeating what other guests have commented on.

The kitchen is generally well appointed but could do with a few more saucepans when the property is fully used and definitely needs small sharp knives. We stayed in May and enjoyed using the patio on a hot day overlooking the estuary - unfortunately a parasol was not supplied so no shelter was available. Its small items like these that make a holiday/break truly memorable. From a safety point of view perhaps a hand rail should be installed in the bathroom and grips on the edges of the wooden stairs.

On arrival we didn't find it welcoming as we have with other cottages," no hope you have a lovey stay with us note" or anything.

the worst toilet paper I have ever seen, and only 3 rolls for 6 adults, would it be that much more expansive to provide better quality. It would have been helpful to comment that the shops pubs restaurant's you could only get to by car, because of the TWO large hills with no footpaths, not safe for walking. I didn't put these comments in the book, but on reflection I should have.

Despite the weather we really enjoyed our stay.

We found the cottage warm and very comfortable and would definitely book again. There is only one little gripe kitchen needs a few more cooking pots, trays and utensils.

The property was as described and we had a nice stay but unfortunately our dog caught fleas.

We noticed these on our return and it infested our own home which took a long time to get rid of. The oven also stopped working on the last night of our stay. So although we enjoyed our holiday we won’t be staying back at this property again.

This was a well appointed house in a good location for visiting Pembrokeshire and walking the coast path.

The beaches and scenery are outstanding in this area. It was lovely to come back to such a comfortable property. Everything was provided so it was home from home. The only small addition, which has been commented on in many reviews, is a small vegetable knife. Would definitely recommend.

We loved this house and its location.

On the estuary, there was something different to see every day, and a lovely terrace to view it from. Plenty of room in the house and it felt well furnished. One very small gripe was the complexity of the oven and the tvs! The area is beautiful and there is lots to do within a reasonable distance.

Wonderful house!

- only one issue is the slippery wooden stair case. It definitely needed edge grips or carpet runner mats, which we had to purchase from Amazon on our 2nd day for £32-as we were staying two weeks and that would have been a major problem as my son has slight balance issues and found them quite difficult. Also our dog likes to come upstairs to see us in the mornings and he was slipping so badly that we were worried he may injure himself. Apart from that we will definitely return - armed with our self adhesive carpet tiles! These cottages ( stayed in Egret before) are probably in my top 3 to stay in West Wales and we’ve stayed in an awful lot of cottages! Amazingly beautiful Peaceful and luxurious holiday home

Super position, centrally placed, Milford not really a holiday town but we knew this, Tenby best for restaurants .

Cross the water to Pembroke dock to go to Stackpole, and Angle beach. Pendine Sands great beach, awful village !

A wonderful stay in a beautiful part of the world.

Loved every minute thank you. The only slight improvement would have been some form of parasol for those who wish to sit on balcony but with shade. Thanks

Excellent holiday accommodation in good location.

There was no small sharp knife in the kitchen for cutting vegetables etc. Otherwise it was perfect.

This property is beautiful, it is very well kept and it is very well cleaned.

There is everything in the property that you need for a comfortable stay. The only small down side is the larger city, i.e Cardiff and Swansea are a good drive away. But again the house is everything it is advertised.

Reference the review of Siobhan of 1-2 months ago, the shower support was hanging off the wall in the 2nd bedroom ensuite, and the house could do with a deep clean in places.

The kitchen floor in particular was very dirty when we arrived and although reported to the owner, Cleaners did not attend during our stay. Areas under/behind the beds had not been swept in some while. The window lock in bedroom 2 was defective. Heron is in a very pleasant location, immediately on the water's edge, in a quiet and peaceful residential area. The house had been recently decorated with new soft furnishings, it was comfortable, warm, well equipped and generally clean. It is possible to walk one's dog along the edge of the pil at low tide, otherwise there is limited dog walking from the property. Bring a towel for muddy paws! If the maintenance and cleaning issues have been dealt with, then we would thoroughly recommend Heron.

Very nice property, very well equipped and very comfortable.

Fab location with lovely views. There are a few available in the row as holiday let's but this is probably the nicest one with lovely furnishings and decor. A spacious house with plenty chairs and sofa room for six people. A bit of maintenance is needed: There were several broken lightbulbs and a dodgy shower fixing and a leaking gutter at the rear, but over all everything very comfortable and well thought out. Could do with a bit of a deeper clean. The terrace is very nice and has sun from mid afternoon through the evening which is just perfect. I would highly recommend this property as a place to stay.

This was an amazing property.

Views were spectacular. Very quiet and peaceful. Heating was excellent and beds were top class. All the interior has been done to a high spec. The terrace was fab. The tide reaches right up to the wall. Our dogs loved every minute. Would highly recommend staying at Heron. Hope to book again.

The house was clean and comfortable and is situated in a lovely location. We loved sitting on the terrace in the evening sunshine and watching the wildlife on the estuary.

Great property with lovely views over the estuary.

The sun terrace is great for relaxing in the afternoon as it’s gets the sun so is nice for a drink with friends/family. Beds were nice and comfortable and the property was clean and well equipped. Only one issue, the patio doors would benefit from a safety sticker as one of our group mistook the closed door for an open door and injured themselves walking into it! However, we had a great stay with some nice walks accessible and lovely restaurants visited in Milford Haven Marina.

Lovely comfortable house in very pretty enclave on the estuary .

Central to all roads to enable you to get out and about to see this part of Wales. Is exactly as shown on website. Two very small gripes no condiments or map of near locality… probably due to Covid restrictions? Went with our two dogs who thoroughly enjoyed all of the walks.

We were a three generation family, not all staying the whole week, in fact because of the advice re storm Eunice none of us arrived on the allotted changeover day.

Storm Franklin didn’t stop us too much and from then on we enjoyed good weather. The house is delightful, warm and comfortable lovely ever changing views across the water. It was spotlessly clean, bed linen and towels crisp and white. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I booked this cottage for a much needed break with my family.

Myself , my elderly father, two adult children and my disabled sons assistance dog. - DO NOT BOOK FOR A PET We left the property as we found it, I made sure everything was in place, our dog has her own cushion and we brought her own towels. We kept the house clean and tidy through out - we hoovered as my daughters boyfriend was picking up her , he is allergic to dogs so we made sure it was clean when he arrived. I have been charged an extra cleaning bill, for dog hair.... be warned they are not dog friendly at all - they are not friendly to anyone and have ruined the holiday

Superb location and very spacious.

The TV and lounge settees require updating, TV far too small, and the settees were uncomfortable.

Wonderful setting, waking up everyday to beautiful scenery.

Full linen change at start of week 2. Lovely beaches, poor dogs were worn out every night. Lovely local people, very friendly.

The cottage/apartment was modern with all the facilities you could wish for.

It was stylishly “dressed” and had a very high standard of cleanliness. The views across the estuary were fascinating watching the tides and wild life. There was a beautiful walk for dogs and humans just across the bridge and along the estuary. Black Bridge is close to supermarkets, restaurants etc and is a good base for exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast.

Ideal for exploring in all directions. Loved the ever changing view of the tidal estuary. Would book again.

We absolutely loved this house.

The views were to die for. Loved the peace, the amazing birdsong, the woodland walks. It is very close to Milford Haven but you wouldn't know it, it is tucked away in it's own little cove. But also very handy for supermarkets, takeaways etc. Very comfortable beds, lovely showers, everything finished to a high standard. Very impressed ! Salve to the soul after months at home. :-)

This house was absolutely beautiful, so much bigger than in the pictures.

The view from the bedroom and terrace was stunning and it was in a great location, only 5mins from supermarket, takeaways and restaurants. Loved our stay and highly recommend this place.

I called several weeks ahead of arrival date to ask that the twin room that can be made into a super kingsize bed upon request was made into a Kingsize for my Dad.

Upon arrival this had not been done.

The cottage is very spacious and clean.

There is plenty of parking and generally it is a lovely property. However, given the high cost to hire this property for a long weekend, we would have expected higher standards in a couple of areas. The duvets were really cheap and falling apart - these do need replacing. Additionally, the property would benefit from comfortable outdoor seating which was in better condition. The tables had suffered from the elements and the chairs were not particularly comfy. As such we didn't make the most of the seating area outside which had a tranquil and pretty view.

The cottage promised amazing views and certainly did not disappoint.

It was amazing to watch the tides and weather changes. The only criticism was we felt it had not been cleaned especially in the current climate this is vital to reassure customers. We found many items belonging to the previous occupiers that had been overlooked and some areas had missed a clean and we do not expect spotless, duvets were poor quality and we wished we had brought our own and sheets too. For the price we would expected more also more cooking crockery and general utensils as we have come across better equipped cottages for much less.

The house is clean, spacious, modern and sits on the edge of an inlet with three other similar properties.

There is a large outside area at the back of the property which overlooks the inlet and provides loverly views. There is very little else close by so it is very peaceful and quiet. Milford Haven itself is a couple of minutes away, with a couple of large supermarkets and places to eat, but really this is a superb location for exploring the rest of Pembrokeshire as it is well situated for everything it has to offer. There is ample on site parking for a couple of cars. We absolutely loved our stay....a definite recommend.

We loved this cottage and want to come back.

The layout was perfect with three bathrooms upstairs and a cloakroom on the ground floor. Plenty of room inside and extra space on the outdoor patio overlooking the water. The cottage was easy to find and a short drive to local attractions. Lots of places to walk the dogs on a road with little traffic. There was a comprehensive information folder with helpful suggestions of things to do and places to eat that helped us plan our days. They also provided us with easy instructions for using the appliances. WiFi was very good. Thank you :)

Amazing - the location was perfect lovely to lie in bed in the morning and watch the tide come in and the birds .

The house itself was so comfortable - exceeded our expectations- if Sykes have a super league should be in there . Even though the weather was not great we were still able to sit out on the terrace and watch the world go by. The surrounding area town wise is not very inspiring but the beaches are superb . Highly highly recommended

I didn’t notice this in your write up. But was a major success with our family golden retrievers. The cottage was well equipped very clean and easy to keep clean. Lots of lovely places to visit nearby. All in all a wonderful holiday experience thank you

Great location and great home

The cottage was very comfortable and clean.

The Location although near the town of Milford Haven was very quite and Ideal for relaxing. Plenty of Supermarkets and takeaway near by if you want to eat in. Weather was very good for 3 days and very bad for 3 days. We had such lovely walks on the Pembrokeshire coastal path, and the lovely beaches. St Davids was ideal when the weather was not so good and the cathedral is lovely.

Lovely to find an immaculate dog friendly house!

This property is perched on the edge of a creek. We loved watching the tide come and go, and the wildlife that came in with the tide..swans, ducks, sand pipers etc. Such a peaceful place to stay. The property owners have gone above and beyond in making this a special holiday home. The beds were fantastically comfy too. Lots to do locally. Milford haven has some lovely places to eat out in the evenings. Tenby well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed if you book this house! One of the best we've stayed in.

By far our best "dog friendly " holiday accommodation.

Beautiful location and spacious, clean and well furnished. Booked to be near family at Christmas as they have recently moved to Milford Haven. We will definitely be looking to book here again. Thoroughly enjoyed by all both two and four legged.

Only thing was there were no grab handles in the showers and the steps into the cottage proved awkward when unloading stuff from the car.

First time we have rented a cottage and the first time we have been to Wales.

Our cottage was wonderful, and an ideal base to explore the fantastic beaches and lovely towns, villages and walks we discovered. The people were so friendly and helpful and we now can't wait to go back. Tenby was our favourite destination, with lots of shops and bars and a dog friendly beach. The south beach bar and grill deserves a special mention for their good food and even better staff. We would recommend this holiday to anyone, and so would Louie, our dog

Brilliant cottage the best one we've stayed in yet.

It was clean surprisingly big and we'll equipped in a beautiful location looking over estuary. It was a good base for exploring the area.

Loved the view of the estuary and watching the tides from the patio.

A small step in the kitchen would be handy for us shorties so we can reach the kitchen cupboards which are very high.

Maybe a cupboard left empty so there is room for food too.
