Old Orchard

We had a lovely holiday at Old Orchard the property was well equipped and very comfortable.

The back gate from the garden led right in to the centre of Saundersfoot where there were many places to grab a drink and get a nice meal. Would recommend. Tenby with its beautiful beaches very close by.

It was our second holiday at this property.

It has a lovely garden and spacious accommodation .also great location near shops and the fabulous beach. Would highly recommend it. A great place for all ages.

We really enjoyed our week staying at the Old Orchard.

We had everything we needed there and enjoyed the various seating areas in the garden. Very handy for walking into Saundersfoot and its beautiful beach.

We needed roomy accommodation for the size of group holidaying & Orchard Cottage turned out perfect.

Everywhere was clean, spacious & extremely comfortable. It had everything we needed including a much appreciated air fryer! We loved the balcony overlooking the garden which again was spacious with lots to see. The gardener arrived one day & he was so friendly, it was nice chatting to him. A perfect stay celebrating my husband's 60th birthday. Memories made to last a lifetime.

Excellent base from which to explore the local area in a quite location.

The house is close to the beach and local amenities and was equipped with everything you could wish from a home from home. We have stayed in many similar properties over the years and Old Orchard is up there amongst the best. Would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit the area.

Lovely house and fantastic garden,great location very near all amenities but still very private.

I had to clean up with a brush because the vacuum cleaner did not work however everything else was perfect. We had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend it to anybody wanting a holiday in the area.

We had a wonderful week at Old Orchard with our two young children.

The house was very clean, with plenty of space to relax in after a day at the beach. The location was perfect. Very quiet, and only a few minutes walk down to the beach and the beautiful town of Saundersfoot. The welcome book with all the house instructions was very useful and the thank you card and bottle of wine were a lovely touch :-) I can’t recommend Old Orchard enough!

! The location was totally perfect. The kitchen was super well equipped and we loved having multiple spaces to sit eg in lounge/kitchen/conservatory. The garden is beautiful too. We own a holiday property ourselves. My only slight negatives were that the towels were pretty small and thin - not fitting with an expensive holiday let. And the beds weren’t massively comfortable. But they were OK. Finally there wasn’t any cupboard space for food as they were all full of kitchen equipment. We leave a small selection of spices, cooking oil, tea bags etc left over from previous guests which I think is handy so you don’t have to buy big quantities of those sorts of things just to lug home again. It’s worth noting to guests that a decent sized supermarket is a way away from the property- with hindsight we should have got a home delivery. Overall though super super lovely and if time allows we will be back!!

Spacious house with comfortable beds.

Well equipped although sky box took some getting used to. Great balcony and conservatory. Garden unusual but obviously well cared for. Lots of steps in garden but enjoyed by our 9yr old grandaughter. Managed 3 beach days out of the 7. Weather not great but that's the UK weather. Enjoyed our stay

We have just stayed at Old Orchard and wow!

What a beautiful house and garden. The owners have really thought about everything as it's so well equipped making it a home from home holiday. Nice little extras like a welcome bottle of wine and dishwasher tablets and even washing pods. The location too is perfect just a short stroll to the beautiful Saundersfoot. We will definitely book to stay here again. Many thanks to Sam & Emma for a lovely holiday.

The house is incredibly comfortable with lots of space and a homely modern feel.

It is well-decorated and light. The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms spacious with lots of storage. The kitchen has everything that you need and plenty of space to sit and eat. The balcony and patio are a fantastic space to chill on and appreciate the quiet. The weather was good during our stay which made the conservatory an excellent place for a nap and read.Just a ten minute walk to the beach along a flat stretch so easy to access for all. Also good access to a cycle path taking you out of Saundersfoot.The garden is a work in progress but the work done so far shows what an amazing space it will be to relax in. We felt completely at home and have booked to return as the house was in a fantastic position for all ages and a dog to access the amenities that Saundersfoot offers. My only recommendation is to provide some plastic glasses for use in the summer months when people are drinking outside. Thank you for a brilliant week.

The old orchard is an outstanding holiday let.

The inside is beautifully decorated yet retains a "family home" feel. The landscaped garden was secure and full of nooks for the kids and dog to explore. And to top it all off the location, just a short few steps out the back gate to the seafront if the beautiful village of Saundersfoot is perfect. Could not be happier with our stay.

Well what can I say about the Old Orchard it was really a first class house every thing was just as it was advertised on the Sykes advert,there was one thing I think could be looked at and that was the washer /dryer it took ages to dry clothes and it is costing the owners a lot in electricity where a dryer in the little room at the bottom of the stairs would be perfect would definitely book this house again well done to the owners thank you once again.

It’s a lovely property, obviously in the process of being refurbished, but still of good standard.

I feel it would benefit from a gate to close the decking area off and also to enclose the back garden. The garden in its hay day must have been a paradise and feel maintenance particularly around the seating area would make it more inviting. Overall we had a lovely week, the kitchen well equipped, the lounge a very comfortable area and the conservatory a lovely place to relax. We would return and would recommend

We had a great stay, despite very poor weather - in fact it was good to have a warm environment, with washing machine and tumble dryer to come back to after a day in the cold and rain. The property is well located for accessing local restaurants, pubs, shops and of course the beach. Places of interest such as Tenby and Pembroke are also within easy reach.

We found the property clean, comfortable and ideally situated. As dog owners we would prefer the garden to be completely secure but we were aware that there was no side gate and came prepared. We know that this property is a work in progress and you are definitely heading in the right direction. In the future if the opportunity arises to visit Saundersfoot again we would definitely consider stopping at Old Orchard.

wouldn't recommend the Old Orchard to my worst enemy - stayed there March 2024 - damp and mould were evident as well as an infestation of woodlice - raised issues whilst we there and Sykes/owners took 2 weeks to come back with their response.

Lovely spacious property with modern decor .

Great location with lovely views.Large enclosed garden with gate to beach and shops a few minutes away. Lots of extras, games, puzzles, beach toys. Constant hot water and heating. Locals were lovely and friendly and we hope to return again.

It is a high price for basic accommodation.

The main room that has been refurbished is lovely, and a wonderful space. Sadly the rest of the house is not to the same standard. It lacked things that would make it so much more welcoming: a door mat so we didn't slip over on the kitchen floor with wet shoes, a blind on the bathroom window so there was some privacy, a cable to connect the supplied DVD player to the TV so it could be used, more than 6 pieces of crockery, cutlery etc so we didn't need to wash up after every meal. Even some washing up liquid would be helpful, or perhaps something welcoming when people arrive, like a pint of milk so you can make a hot drink. The clothes storage in the bedrooms is variable (a sideboard in the downstairs bedroom, yet there is plenty of room for a small wardrobe and chest of drawers). It wasn't possible to access the back gate to use the shortcut to the beach when we visited, due to the weeds and brambles. I was surprised by some of the safety elements that were lacking: a rusty saw and large knife on the side in the open greenhouse, easily accessible to children, the glass in one of the kitchen cupboards held in by sellotape, and doors from the bedrooms directly into the eaves of the house with all the fibreglass insulation. I would expect these to be locked or at least a piece of furniture in front. Overall, we didn't feel it matched the quality of other Sykes properties we have rented, we didn't feel comfortable, and thought there was a lot of elements that could easily be thought about from a guest point of view and improved.

This is a lovely big house only 5 minutes walk from the edge of Saunderfoot's centre and then not far to the beach.

The views out of the conservatory are very relaxing and it felt like an excellent place to spend time in and use as a base to go to Saundersfoot easily as well as visit all the amazing places in Pembrokeshire nearby. The house has good facilities and lots of space for our family of 5. The kitchen is really well equipped compared to some other places we've been. The beach stuff and crabbing equipment was really well appreciated and we liked the board games and puzzles left in the lounge. We've seen others comments on the garden. It's true that it isn't the best garden for being in and needs some TLC, but the photos clearly show you what it is like. For us the garden wasn't the focus as we are so close to the beach. Suggestions of things that would be useful: Oven gloves, more cutlery (especially tea spoons), a doormat on the inside of the front door, an airer to hang up wet things when you come back from the beach. More detailed instructions for the washing/dryer machine settings.

More towels would be useful.

1 handtowel between 2 people not sufficient. The garden was rather overgrown so leaving by the back gate was difficult. Otherwise we found the property extremely pleasing. Lots of kitchen equipment. Spacious and warm. We loved the conservatory and patio with a super view.

Saundersfoot is a fantastic location, with lots of amenities and a great little beach.

The cottage itself is very nice, but I do have a couple of observations. Firstly, the garden is currently not suitable for children or dogs. It is steep, there is no lawn and it is not enclosed. A couple of gates to block access to the road would help. Secondly, the level of cleanliness could be improved. The kettle needs descaling regularly, the bathroom grouting needs to be thoroughly cleaned, the floors need mopping (not just vacuuming) and the cleaning equipment itself needs cleaning. We had a pleasant stay and I hope the above is accepted as constructive feedback to make your cottage even more successful.

The property was excellent and we had a lovely stay.

Really handy for the town centre and beaches and great facilities. Useful to have single floor living as well as the option for other people to have their own space upstairs. The owners asked for feedback on facilities given it is their first year of operation I would say better towels. They are bath size but using them for the week was not great either provide bigger and more towels or advise people to bring their own. Our friends felt the upstairs double room could do with a set of drawers or something to put 'stuff' on. But other than that everything was great. The area is fab to visit too so overall we had a brilliant holiday.

The Old Orchard in Saundersfoot is old.

It has been cosmetically enhanced but is in need of complete modernisation. The rear garden is not good. Neighbours have two dogs which are noisy and aggressive. The plus side of the property is its position you can easily walk to the beachfront and shops.

The property was spacious and comfortable for our family group.

However, the flooring downstairs was pretty slippery. Our 2 year old grandson fell a number of times, even when walking and was safest in bare feet, which was not ideal. I also slipped and fell when rising from the sofa. The garden was not toddler friendly either and was in need of some maintenance. Nonetheless, we had a great holiday at the Old Orchard.

Fabulous spacious and very comfortable seaside house only a short walk onto the front, everything you could want from a coastal cottage.
