The Ultimate Dog-Friendly Family GetawayIf you are looking for the perfect base to explore the breathtaking Pembrokeshire coast, look no further. We love this area so much that we have visited numerous times, but this property is by far the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. It balances an ideal location for local beaches with a wonderfully peaceful, tranquil atmosphere.Flawless Layout for FamiliesThe layout of the house is incredibly well-thought-out. The open-plan lounge and kitchen area is a family dream—it ensures the cook is never left out and can fully mingle with everyone while prepping dinner. The entire property is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated to a very high standard, and comfortable throughout.Ben, the host, has truly thought of every single detail needed for a perfect holiday:Smart Laundry Room: A fantastic little room equipped with a washer, tumble dryer, and an airer, meaning clothes dry easily overnight.Spacious Bedrooms: Every room features plush, incredibly comfortable king-sized beds and ample storage/hanging space for clothing.En-Suite Luxury: Every bedroom has its own large, private bathroom, which is a massive plus for a big family.Perfect Accessibility: Two of the king bedrooms are downstairs, making it ideal for anyone with limited mobility.The Ultimate First-Floor Retreat: Upstairs features another king bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe, sitting adjacent to a huge room boasting panoramic views. This massive space is split into two clever zones: a cosy lounge with a TV and comfy sofa, and a separate seating area at the other end with a table and chairs for family games (plus a separate sofa bed).A Paradise for Dog OwnersFinding truly dog-friendly accommodation can be tough, but this place nails it. There is ample space for parking and a fabulous, fully fenced-in garden that is completely secure for pets. Our two dogs had the absolute best time, largely thanks to Cody, the host's dog, who was a wonderful playmate for them!The Perfect HostBen is quite simply a lovely man. He couldn’t have been more accommodating, friendly, or helpful. Because he lives on-site, he is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great recommendations for local places to visit. He is there exactly when you need him, yet completely unobtrusive.Our Favourite Local Highlights (All within 30–60 mins)The property is exceptionally well-located, with countless beaches and attractions within a half-hour drive (and the beautiful National Botanic Garden of Wales just under an hour away). Based on our many trips, here are our top recommendations:Broadhaven South Beach & Bosherston Lily Ponds (Our Absolute Favourite): Mobility Tip: Avoid the top dune car park entrance if walking is difficult. Instead, park at the Bosherston Lily Ponds car park. The walk to the beach is a flat 20–25 minute stroll with two choices: turn right for a flatter, shaded route, or turn left for a slightly longer, more open, and picturesque walk. There are no facilities on the beach, so pack food and drinks, though you can grab food at the lovely tea rooms by the lily ponds car park, or visit the ice cream van and toilets at the top dune entrance.Barafundle Bay: A beautifully sheltered, sandy beach accessed via Stackpole Quay. You can take the cliff-top route for spectacular views (note: there are steep steps down to the sand) or take the lovely, gentler walk from the rear of the car park through fields and woods to enter via the dunes.Freshwater East: A massive, beautiful stretch of sand perfect for long walks.West Angle Beach: Very easy access and home to the "Wavecrest Cafe", which serves up superb snacks.A Huge Thank YouWe want to say a massive, heartfelt thank you to Ben for opening up his beautiful home to us.
