Landfall

This was our return visit after having an amazing time earlier in the year and being impressed with the property, location and Ben (The Host).

We were not disappointed in any way, the property itself was cleaned to a high standard, there is space for all of us (two adults, two teenagers, one 9yr old and six dogs), plenty of parking, outdoor space for the dogs and children to play. Everyone had a big bathroom attached to each bedroom so no arguing over use of baths and showers. The spacious kitchen has everything you could possibly need and want, dog room is excellent and well kitted. Views were amazing, we often watched the sun set and then the stars on a clear night. Cody the resident dog is a superstar so chilled and kindly put up with our dogs. Ben is a fantastic source of local knowledge, great advice and can't do enough to make your stay perfect. We had our grocery shop delivered which not only saved space in the car and not wasting your holiday inside a supermarket. Great places to visit are the stunning Bosherston Lily ponds, Manorbier Castle, St David's Cathedral, Barafundle Bay, plus lots of other local beaches close by. We have already booked to return in a few weeks as this is our favourite. Thank you Ben and Cody and Claire the housekeeper for your high standard of cleanliness.

He is there exactly when you need him, yet completely unobtrusive.Our Favourite Local Highlights (All within 30–60 mins)The property is exceptionally well-located, with countless beaches and attractions within a half-hour drive (and the beautiful National Botanic Garden of Wales just under an hour away). Based on our many trips, here are our top recommendations:Broadhaven South Beach & Bosherston Lily Ponds (Our Absolute Favourite): Mobility Tip: Avoid the top dune car park entrance if walking is difficult. Instead, park at the Bosherston Lily Ponds car park. The walk to the beach is a flat 20–25 minute stroll with two choices: turn right for a flatter, shaded route, or turn left for a slightly longer, more open, and picturesque walk. There are no facilities on the beach, so pack food and drinks, though you can grab food at the lovely tea rooms by the lily ponds car park, or visit the ice cream van and toilets at the top dune entrance.Barafundle Bay: A beautifully sheltered, sandy beach accessed via Stackpole Quay. You can take the cliff-top route for spectacular views (note: there are steep steps down to the sand) or take the lovely, gentler walk from the rear of the car park through fields and woods to enter via the dunes.Freshwater East: A massive, beautiful stretch of sand perfect for long walks.West Angle Beach: Very easy access and home to the "Wavecrest Cafe", which serves up superb snacks.A Huge Thank YouWe want to say a massive, heartfelt thank you to Ben for opening up his beautiful home to us. It is clear how much care, love, and hard work has gone into creating such a special place, and we feel incredibly lucky to have stayed there.We honestly did not want to leave and would have stayed much longer if we could have. We highly, highly recommend this property and will definitely be back!

If Carlsberg did holidays, they’d probably look a lot like staying at Landfall — because this place really does set the bar.

Surrounded by the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside, it’s the sort of setting that makes you think, yes, this is exactly how a holiday should feel. When we arrived at the spotlessly clean house — genuinely 10 out of 10 for the cleaners — Ben appeared, dog in tow, apologising that he was just popping out to get some milk… from six miles away. That’s Ben: the perfect host. He’s magically there the moment you need him, and nowhere to be seen when you don’t. Exactly how hosting should be. The house itself is a gem. Three large bedrooms, each with its own generous en suite (complete with very white, very fluffy towels), a downstairs loo, a utility room, two lounges, a kitchen, and even a dedicated dog room — fully equipped with a dog bed, dish, and toys. Outside, there’s an enclosed garden for the dog, complete with a warm water hosepipe. Ben has genuinely thought of everything to make the holiday special for us and for the dog. This is, without doubt, the best Sykes property we’ve ever rented. That, together with that glorious Pembrokeshire countryside and its beaches, we’re already looking at when we can return. As an earlier review said - "Landfall is a simply perfect Holiday house." It is.

We absolutely loved our stay at Landfall!

The property is spotless and has everything you could want for your stay. Really well appointed kitchen, comfy sofas, en suite for all bedrooms, big smart TVs, great views from the upstairs lounge, lots of outdoor space. The bed in the master bedroom is huge and super comfy. There were also lots of thoughtful touches for our dogs and it was so easy to look after them with their own dog room, secure dog lawn and outdoor hose. The local area is lovely with plenty of dog friendly beaches, walks and places to stop for coffee or lunch. The firing range nearby was barely noticeable and didn't cause us any issues at all, even though there was a 24 hour exercise going on with firing at night time - we weren't disturbed at all. Thank you very much for a fantastic stay. We hope to return!

Landfall was perfect for us, having 3 dogs the enclosed garden was great, a 2nd much larger garden was available to us but not needed.

Great location for dog friendly beaches. The cottage was brilliant. The owner really has thought of everything. Will definitely recommend landfall and will hopefully be booking again. Best place we have stayed in Wales.

The host Ben was amazing, any queries I had before arrival was answered promptly.

During our stay Ben was available to help, offer suggestions to visit local places, super knowledgeable and genuine person. The property itself was presented to a high standard, clean, comfortable, spacious, inviting and homely. Everything you could possibly need and want is at the property, the attention to detail is beyond. Dogs loved it here, especially having their paws washed with warm water from the outside hose/shower. We had a few days of typical wet Welsh weather, but this is the place to be cwtched in when a storm is brewing. Views from the property are amazing, lovely walks, beaches, firing range, tea-rooms and so much history locally. We have already booked to visit again later in the year.

We were made to feel very welcome, including our three dogs.

An extremely user friendly house, and plenty of help if requested.

This property appealed to us because firstly it is dog friendly and secondly it has three bedrooms and three en-suites perfect for us !

! The open plan arrangement for the rest of the house means you never miss a conversation … The enclosed garden for the dogs was so spacious our pooches loved it . The owner Ben lives in the other half of the property with his super friendly dog Cody .. Ben is an amazing host and genuinely wants his guests to have an awesome holiday and is always happy to make suggestions depending on what you want to do. He is there if you need him but doesn't intrude. The visitors book shows that Landfall has a lot of repeat guests and we will definitely be trying to have another holiday there !! It’s our first morning at home and we all have Landfall blues.

Fabulous large, modern house and very spacious rooms.

The appliances are of a high standard. Outstanding TV for a rental property. There are 3 large ensuite bedrooms, plus a sofa bed in the upstairs lounge if needed. The beds are really comfortable. Ben, the owner is an excellent host, and the whole set up is massively dog friendly. We highly recommend Landfall and would definitely go again.

This was our second visit to Landfall and it certainly was just as great as last year.

Ben made us very welcome and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable.

Absolutely the best , well maintained, attractive, comfortable, clean, beautifully laid out , decor outstanding, place I have ever stayed at - and I have stayed in many over the years !

NB ( only missing a whisk and a lemon squeezer) which given the extent of the kitchen utensils is very little !

Absolutely beautiful house, clean immaculate and everything you could ever want or need for a perfect getaway.

Ben the owner went the extra mile to be helpful courteous, warm and friendly and should be extremely proud of the high standards he has set in part of his idyllic home. Our furry foursome really had a whale of a time in the garden and surrounding paddock area. They also made another friend in Cody who would visit most days. We had a wonderful stay at Landfall.

The cottage is superb, and far more than a cottage. It is spacious, beautifully decorated, has everything you need and is impeccably clean. The beds have lovely white linen and are very comfortable. The location is also great. You can walk from the house, there are beaches and great places to eat near by and beautiful views. The host, Ben, is also on hand, but not too much. He gave us great advice on where to paddle, provided a bucket for sandy wetsuits, recommended walks and just made sure our stay was the best it could be. Thank you, Ben. We hope to return to Landfall soon and thoroughly recommend it.

A stay we will never forget.

Our third time here and always such a fantastic stay. Super clean, Ben is so friendly and helpful and it just feels like a luxurious home away from home. Still dreaming of that view! Would certainly recommend.

A fabulous house in a stunning location.

A car is needed to get about but so easy to access many beautiful beaches, and places to visit. One of the most dog friendly hosts which made our stay more enjoyable. We found the viewing of the Castle Martin training range fascinating to observe, and also enjoyed the night shows! (stops by 22.00) Many thanks to Ben for sharing this lovely house and we hope to return.

This cottage is simply amazing!

Ben truly has thought of everything you could possibly need and the quality is excellent too. Great enclosed garden for the dogs, but you can access the grounds around as long as you are with the dogs. Loved the gifts of Prosecco, biscuits, milk, biscuits for doggies too. All bedrooms being Ensuite is a real bonus, the beds were comfy and the sheets of really good quality. We ate out at Jacks in Freshwater East, st Govans inn, Wavecrest cafe at Angle, and cooked the other nights. Highly recommend Landfall!

Landfall is a simply perfect Holiday house.

Ben has thought of everything when designing and furnishing this beautiful property ,it is spacious warm comfortable, lots of hot water a very well equipped kitchen,comfy beds . The bespoke dog room and enclosed garden and warm outdoor shower were such a treat for our two dogs – Dottie and Fudge , I know they would love to go back and hopefully will invite their owners too !

Have visited several times made all the better by the lovely host, Ben who is a wealth of local information. Great place if you have dogs with a drying room and outside tap for muddy paws!

We loved the house and everything had been thought of.

We had extremely good weather which did mean the upstairs lounge was just too hot to use even with the 2 windows open. We had a wonderful week and thoroughly enjoyed the house and all its emenities and thought the local area was great for dog walks and beach days. We hope to return.

Absolutely stunning property, the photos honestly don’t do it justice, this is truly gorgeous so if looking at Landfall, don’t hesitate, just book it and I can promise you won’t be disappointed.

It’s so big and beautifully decorated with everything you need to hand. There’s lots of stunning places to visit without having to drive miles and some amazing eateries, we didn’t want to leave!

We have had another fantastic stay at Landfall it is such a relaxing place to be ,dogs loved it to again and we had a fab week of weather ,it remains one of the best we have ever stayed in .

This was our 2nd visit to Landfall and was as wonderful as the 1st visit.

The property is amazing, all the home comforts you could desire. The property is very clean, the furnishings are extremely comfortable and the set up is perfect. The beautiful log fire is an amazing addition after a long walk. The gardens are beautiful and useful for a morning run around for the dogs before taking on the amazing surrounding walks later on in the day. A week here is relaxing for both humans and dogs! Ben was an amazing host. So friendly and attentive. You couldn't ask for more. We have already booked for our 3rd visit next year. We would highly recommend this property for a slice of Welsh heaven.

Quite simply one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in.

It was perfect for our annual get together. It is increasingly difficult to find houses which will accommodate 3 dogs and the host - Ben - catered for them a different level; the separate room with dog beds, towels and treats and toys was fabulous. The house is comfortable and well equipped and you can enjoy the views across to the sea in the upstairs lounge. Ben was an attentive host and could not be more helpful. Have no hesitation in recommending Landfall. Hope to be back.

The property was spacious and worked well for two families sharing.

Plenty of room for everyone! The house was warm and the Christmas tree was a lovely touch. We had everything we needed. Just one small thing missing was a full length mirror (maybe in the hallway or on the landing would be ideal). The views were lovely and the location was great for good walks but near to shops too. We didn’t want to leave!

Landfall was hands down the best home we have ever rented ,and we have rented quite a few .

We had mother and daughter Dobermans , a staffie and a Bordoodle and normally it’s a hard ask for them all to be accepted but Ben was so accommodating and the dogs needed for nothing. There were dog treats, beds , a warm hose pipe outside to wash them down just to mention a few extras . We humans adored our own delights such as the absolutely stunning kitchen with ever changing coloured lights & the super comfy sofa where we recovered each night from the magnificent walks being warmed by the log burner . It was the most magical week that we will never forget ! Also Ben was so attentive making sure we were happy contacting us on arrival and before we left .

Beautiful place to stay, pictures do not do it justice much bigger than expected, nice size garden for the dogs also Ben was very pleasant and helpful if we needed any advice on the area.

Wow, the best holiday home we have stayed in, absolutely everything there, the dogs were so catered for, their own dog room with underfloor heating, and the owner Ben has left beds, bowls ect if u forget anything.

The house is beautiful, comfortable, warm clean, and the upstairs lounge over looks firing ranges, some nights watching tracer bullets, the tanks turned up, but unfortunately didn't get to hear them fire. Then Pembrokeshire, the walks, beaches peaceful wonderful place, so you may of guest we had an amazing week. Thank you Ben, Angie ...perfect xx

Brilliant location and lovely garden for the dogs to safely run free. Charlie & Riley loved it. We had everything we needed and Ben was an excellent host and gave us some great advice on where to visit. We liked it so much that we are going back next year. Highly recommend staying here.

A fantastic property!

Absolutely incredible views from all windows. Dogs as thought about as humans with the dog room and separate entrance will undoubtedly be back! Comfy beds and incredible kitchen too..We already miss it!

Excellent location, only minutes from some of the best beaches in Britain and with 360 open views of countryside from the property. Beds very comfortable and rooms spacious; it was great to have two spaces in which to relax, with beautiful sunsets from the tranquil upstairs lounge area. Children appreciated the enclosed garden for playing. Can definitely recommend for families as there’s plenty to do in the area.

This is an amazing property both because of the standard of the house but also because of location.

This is our second visit and we plan more. The hosts have catered for everything and especially well for the dogs! Second visit done and it gets harder to leave!

The property is stunning as is the surrounding countryside. I would certainly re-book for future visits to South West Wales. A viewing gallery just up the road to watch British Army tanks (Challenger 2 and Warrior vehicles).

A big thankyou to Ben + Regan for providing one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in ,a credit to them for accomodation such a high standard and outstanding cleanliness and facilities provided,so much room inside and out and fantastic dog room sleeping/ quiet cool down area ,enclosed big private garden for humans and doggies,we have booked for next year as we enjoyed it so much can't wait so much still to see,we had some lovely walks with dogs both on and off lead and beaches so close and accessible no restrictions or rules, see you soon and thankyou again both of you.

Landfall is a very high spec cottage set in a beautiful area with wonderful views.

Plus the owners Ben and Regan are lovely people.

This was a fabulous cottage - the best we've ever stayed in & we've stayed in a lot over the last 12 years !

Everything you could want was provided - the whole family were extremely impressed - such comfortable beds, bathrooms all clean and tidy - stunning views from all windows - what more can I say. It was wonderful. Just one small comment - a basket to put laundry in to hang it outside would be helpful - but overall ..10 out of 10 !!!

Superb property in an idilic location, extremely well presented with all of the comforts of home very very clean and the addition of the ‘dog room’ meant that if the weather was unkind our border collie could be washed outside with the warm hose and could then relax and dry out in her very own space, brilliant.

The added extra of the night time manoeuvres by the tanks and the light show from the rockets was superb. Book with confidence and enjoy Wales at its best. ‘

One of the best holiday homes ever (if not the very best!

) We all walked around the house saying "wow" for the first 10 minutes or so! After a warm welcome from Regan, we settled in really quickly. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable, with lots of homely touches. It is very well equipped, with everything we could have wished for. The views are lovely and watching the sunset from the upstairs windows was fantastic. I could go on and on...!! Just book it - you won't be disappointed. Thanks again for a lovely stay!

This has been by far the best place we have stayed.

This property is literally the best we've ever stayed in - everything has been thought of and the standard of accommodation is first class.

The owners Ben and Regan are very welcoming and have great tips for local areas for dog friendly venues. For dog owners every detail has been considered making sure your furry pals also have the best holiday. We have already booked to come back here, and probably will again in the future - the area is outstanding with so many great places to visit, lots of walking and 'soul food' - highly recommended.

This property is all about its stunning location and the very high quality layout inside.

Dog owners dream! 15 mins to Pembroke Dock for supermarkets or 15 mins in any other direction to some of the finest coastal walking and beaches in the country. Would recommend joining the National Trust before your trip and doing some homework prior to your arrival to make the most of your time here. Super friendly and helpful owners who are great at communication. No doubt this will fill up fast, I’ve took the precaution of rebooking another week here next year before posting this! You won’t be disappointed.

We had a wonderful time at Landfall Cottage.

It’s a beautiful place to stay. Everything is catered for. Extremely comfortable. A home from home feeling to it. So happy with it we have already booked again for next year.

Everything we hoped for, and more.

Lovely hosts, house and location; just perfect. Facilities were excellent and even the dogs were catered for - it was nice that they were welcomed, not just tolerated. Would definitely recommend and return.

The house is great and a perfect location for getting to all the nice beaches.

All the bedrooms had very comfortable beds and the whole house was extremely clean. There were amazing views from every room and our daughter loved watching the bird feeder in the garden. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back!

This was our first time visiting South Wales and what a wonderful week we have had.

The Pembroke coast is beautiful and the cottage is perfectly placed for exploring it and the many little towns close by. Tenby is a delight and Pembroke has a fantastic fish & chip shop. The property had absolutely everything we needed and more and Ben and Reagan made us feel so very welcome. Look forward to seeing you again.
