A tastefully-converted farm building, in the grounds of the owner’s B&B, providing cosy accommodation, surrounded by working farmland, in the heart of the rolling Carmarthenshire countryside.

Just a short drive from the bustling county town of Carmarthen, the oldest town in Wales, the cottage is a perfect base for romantic breaks for couples, or a getaway for a small family looking to enjoy the surrounding countryside.

Set on the ground floor, there is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and an open plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen overlooking fields and a cosy sitting room with a dining area and TV, where you can sit and plan your day’s adventures over a morning cup of coffee.

Outside, you can sit on the private patio and lawned area and enjoy the tranquillity whilst looking out across landscaped gardens, with its resident chickens and guinea fowl and distant rolling fields.

The area is surrounded by lovely countryside views and walks across the Carmarthenshire hills, and traditional Welsh towns such as Newcastle Emlyn within 15 miles or Cardigan and the stunning Ceredigion Bay, 22 miles, with its famous dolphins.

You are ideally placed to explore the beautiful South Wales beaches, including the stunning harbour seaside town of Tenby, just 30 miles away or perhaps soak up some of the culture of the area and follow Dylan Thomas to his iconic Boathouse home in Laugharne only 15 miles away.

There are numerous outdoor activities in the area such as, canoeing, fishing, coasteering or just enjoying the vast stretches of the Wales Coast Path, taking in much of the Pembrokeshire National Park.

A perfect retreat for couples and young families to enjoy the abundance of walks, outdoor activities, numerous beaches and stunning local historic towns.

Cynwyl Elfed is a small village in the rolling hills of Carmarthenshire. Surrounded by working farmland this small village is the centre of a busy community and it holds its agricultural show at the end of August. The village is surrounded by pretty woodland which is criss-crossed with footpaths, yet is just seven miles from the bustling county town of Carmarthen, or the popular fishing town of Newcastle Emlyn. The town of Carmarthen overlooks the banks of the River Tywi and boasts the ruins of a Norman castle, the site of a Roman amphitheatre, a museum containing Roman relics and a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. The bustling market town of Newcastle Emlyn is set on the River Teifi and offers an array of shops, both unique local producers and larger chain stores, such as designer clothes, crafts and jewellery, antiques, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and a ruined castle, plus fishing permits are available nearby.
