“Excellent accommodation, very spacious, clean and comfortable.”

Just a very minor issue. on website, it was listed as WiFi but we were told when we asked that it was not working. Maybe worth just making that clear on website that currently there is no WiFi. It did not really matter much to us but someone may want to access internet even on holiday. Otherwise, probably the best accommodation of this type that we had stayed in. Thank you very Kathy and family.

The property

Goodwick 3.5 miles, Fishguard 5.0 miles, St Davids 14.0 miles.

Old Spot Cottage is a charming, family-friendly cottage in the Pembrokeshire hamlet of Trefasser, near Strumble Head.

The cottage is packed with unique features for a family of six's next seaside getaway, set in a rural position with easy access to the beautiful coast.

On arrival, you will be greeted by off-road parking on this family farm, allowing you to unpack and settle in quickly while taking in your tranquil surroundings.

Step inside to find a well-equipped kitchen/diner ready to host family dinners after a day of excursions; farmhouse meets contemporary in this well-equipped area, which has an electric range stove, dishwasher, and a round, wooden table for six people.

When plates are cleared and the little ones are in bed, why not grab a bottle from the wine cooler, pour yourself a glass, and stroll into the enclosed back garden for a moment's peace.

As the evening draws in, retire to a lovely, spacious sitting room with a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, stone walls, and a stunning stained-glass, original chapel window.

Curl up on the sofas in this unique place with a good book or your favourite show on TV, while the wood burning stove adjacent crackles to complete the scene!

After trekking the coast, return to Old Spot Cottage and find the utility room, six steps down from the kitchen, with a washing machine and wet room to freshen up.

On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms: one family-friendly room with a double bed, child's bed, and cot, as well as a twin with a TV.

Upstairs another double room offers lovely views, sloped ceilings, a TV, and the unique chapel window to enjoy up close.

The ground-floor bathroom serves all bedrooms and features a big corner bath for optimum relaxation and a walk-in shower with a waterfall shower head.

Begin your seaside adventure by walking down the coast, with Old Spot Cottage ideally located for walking the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast Path, just a two minute walk away heading either North or South!

Also only 500 yards from the bus stop for the ‘Strumble Shuttle’ which can take you towards plenty of walkways leading to stunning sea vistas, picnic spots, and historic monuments like Strumble Head Lighthouse!

Heading east, pick up any essentials at the convenience shop in Goodwick and visit the Ocean Lab Aquarium which you're there!

There are many eateries in the twin town of Fishguard, as well as walkways around the waterfront to picturesque Lower Town, the location of such famous films as Moby Dick starring Gregory Peck and Under Milk Wood starring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor!

Don't forget to call into the Town Hall to visit the historic Last Invasion Tapestry, which was made by around 80 local women to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Last Invasion of Mainland Britain in 1797 when the Napoleonic French were repelled by locals, led by Welsh heroine Jemima Nicholas and her pitchfork!.

A short distance away is Newport, where you can enjoy sunny days at Newport Beach and learn about historic toys at the Ty Twt Dolls' House and Toy Museum and travel further along to visit the iconic Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber - 5500 years of history in a wonderfully peaceful setting.

Heading west, Britain's smallest city, St Davids with its incredible Cathedral, is within easy reach.

Spend the day creating sandcastles on picturesque beaches such as Abereiddy and Whitesands Bay or take the kids to Dr.Beynon's Bug Farm.

Then jump on a boat trip to Ramsey Island with the RSPB Nature Reserve.

Finish the day in style with a meal in The Bishops in the heart of St Davids!

With a stay at Old Spot Cottage, you'll have lots to do on your next family-friendly holiday.
