The property

Barley Cottage is a beautifully reimagined coastal home in Oxwich Green, Swansea, set within the breath-taking Gower National Landscape.

Designed for families and friends to spend quality time together, it combines generous living space, thoughtful design, and far-reaching views towards the sea.

With stunning views, partial ground-floor living, and a woodburning stove, the cottage offers a relaxed and well-balanced setting for shared coastal stays.

On arrival, off-road parking is available just off the private road at Green Meadow Farm.

Before stepping inside, take a moment to enjoy the open outlook—rolling countryside stretches towards the shoreline, with the sea resting on the horizon and the north Devon coastline visible on clear days.

Enter through a practical utility and boot room, ideal for coastal living, complete with a washing machine and tumble dryer for sandy clothes and walking gear.

From here, step up into the main kitchen and dining space.

The kitchen is a standout feature, finished with a beautiful country-style shaker design and premium worktops, combining timeless character with a high-quality modern feel.

Set beneath a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and filled with natural light from Velux windows, it’s a space made for slow breakfasts, relaxed cooking, and long evenings gathered around the farmhouse style table.

Continue through to the sitting room, where a woodburning stove creates a warm focal point.

Comfortable lounge seating and soft finishes make it an inviting place to unwind after a day exploring the coast.

Large doors open directly onto a generous patio, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living.

This spacious area is ideal for everything from morning coffee to evening dining, with steps leading up to a lawned garden beyond, as well as a raised timber terrace with bench seating and fantastic sea views.

Fire up the barbecue, enjoy drinks outside, and take in the peaceful surroundings as the light softens across the landscape.

The sleeping accommodation has been thoughtfully arranged for flexibility and comfort.

A super-king-size master bedroom with hotel quality mattress is accessed via a staircase from the sitting room, creating a more private retreat, complete with its own en-suite basin and WC.

A second super-king-size bedroom provides an easily accessible and restful space close to the main living area.

From here, a further twin bedroom is accessed upstairs, set beneath Velux windows and enjoying elevated views across the countryside towards the sea—an ever-changing backdrop at the start and end of each day.

This upper room features full-size beds, though due to its lower ceiling height and access via the adjoining bedroom, it is best suited younger guests.

A well-appointed ground-floor bathroom serves the cottage, featuring both a bath and a separate shower cubicle, along with a heated towel rail for added comfort.

Throughout the cottage, high-quality finishes and carefully chosen materials create a calm and welcoming atmosphere, blending coastal character with modern comfort.

A shop and pub are within easy reach, while the beach is just a short drive or pleasant walk away.

With direct access to the Wales Coast Path and the wider Gower Peninsula, there are endless opportunities for walking, exploring, and unwinding by the sea.

Barley Cottage is an exceptional base for experiencing the natural beauty, space, and quiet luxury of this remarkable part of the South Wales coast.
