Here’s a list of the 7 most popular holiday towns and villages in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.
Newport is fast becoming the go-to holiday destination in West Wales and it’s easy to see why! Not only is it located within the Pembrokeshire National Park, but it also has a backdrop of mountains, rolling countryside and some glorious beaches.
The town has a wide variety of restaurants, pubs and cafes. There’s also a links golf course, there’s definitely something for everyone here.
Cardigan Bay is the largest bay within the British isles spanning over 50 miles from the Llyn Peninsula down to Strumble Head in Pembroke.
The area offers a stunning coastline, golden sandy beaches and miles upon miles of scenic walks. Cardigan Bay is also known for its Dolphin population as well as porpoises, seals and many other sea creatures.

St David’s Peninsula is the jewel in the crown of Pembrokeshire. This stunning part of Wales is known for its colourful coastline filled with interesting history and picture-perfect views. Did you know it’s also the smallest city in the UK?
St David is the patron saint of Wales and was reputedly born and raised around this area.
Fishguard is a coastal town on the west coast of Wales. There are plenty of shops, pubs, cafes, and restaurants in this harbour town. There are miles and miles of gorgeous coastline in Fishguard Bay, you’ll never get bored. You can also access Ireland quite easily from Fishguard via the ferry that leaves from the port here.
Preseli Hills is a popular spot for those looking for a rural retreat and keen walkers. The Preseli Hills is located in the heart of the Pembrokeshire National Park and is surrounded by valleys, rivers and rolling hillsides. It is home to a number of little villages and hamlets that are snuggled away from the rush of modern life.
St Brides Bay is located between Ramsey Island and Skomer Island and is part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. This beautiful bay stretches over 7 miles and parts of the coastline fall under the heritage coast.
There are a number of villages located in the St Brides Bay area, including g St Brides, Martin’s Haven, Little Haven, Broad Haven, Nolton Haven, Newgale and Solva
Cwm yr Eglwys is a small village located on Dinas Island (which isn’t an island….) in between Fishguard and Newport on the north Pembrokeshire coast. It’s an ideal location for those of you that love the sea. You’ll see people rowing, boating, kayaking and swimming in this lovely little inlet.
The list above shouldn’t limit you. There are dozens of other places that can be the perfect holiday base! At the end of the day, it’s a big decision and it should be your decision. If you find the right property, in the right location and present it to a really good standard, it will book.
