Cilthriew Farm Cottages

This gorgeous farm courtyard rests within the awe-inspiring countryside of Mid Wales, close to the charming village of Kerry. Dating back to the 16th century and containing a characterful Grade II listed barn conversion, this former working farm was highly integral towards the history of the local area. The four converted buildings within these luscious grounds range from convenient ground floor hideaways to more spacious and charm-filled buildings perfect for families to spend a holiday in. The beautiful grounds and gardens that surround the property are perfect for a stroll around, offering an abundance of wildlife and ponds, including two fishing ponds! There are also paddocks on site, perfect for those who may wish to bring their horse with them during their stay. Right from the doorstep, a quiet bridleway leads you towards the magnificent Kerry Ridgeway, which along with the nearby Shropshire Hills AONB, make this a splendid location for lovers of the outdoors. As well as tremendous countryside, the surrounding area abounds in fascinating tourist spots such as Newtown, Welshpool and Montgomery on the Welsh side of the border, and places such as Bishop's Castle and Church Stretton can be found after crossing the border into England. Four thoughtfully designed, homely cottages just perfect for bringing your friends and family together to enjoy this remarkable rural location.

About the location

KERRY

Newtown 3 miles; Montgomery 12 miles; Bishops Castle 15 miles.

Kerry is a small village which nestles in the lovely Vale of Kerry, centrally located in Mid Wales and close to the borders with Shropshire. This wonderfully scenic region is known as The Marches and is steeped in history. There is a village shop, two pubs, one with a restaurant, and the area is best known as a popular destination for walkers and mountain bikers because of the Kerry Ridgeway; a gentle 15 mile route through the hills providing remarkable views in all directions (up to 70 miles on clear days)! Discover Montgomery and Powis Castles, the medieval towns of Bishops Castle, Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Machynlleth, and Snowdonia and Brecon Beacons National Parks. With easy access to Offa’s Dyke, many beautiful gardens to visit, steam railways and the coast about an hour’s drive away, this location is a real gem!
