“As we have already informed sykes and the property owners with lengthy feedback/complaint this property feel well below basic standards of cleanliness.”

It is not an ‘excellent’ property when there is black mould in the freezer, cob webs over the cooker, cobwebs and dust in every room, food debris on chopping boards, broken fridge storage shelf, hot tub covered in moss, lid broken and too heavy to lift as lifting arm wasn’t working and full of water, unable to read dial numbers/temperature gauge on the cooker had wore off , dirt on the floors and dead flies stains on the walls. No apology or acknowledgement from Sykes, Owners have blamed us for picking the wrong location when location was not ever an issue. Never been so disappointed in a holiday property ever! Don’t go to this property if you want a nice holiday. Very angry and frustrated no one has listened to our complaint and taken on board our feedback. Will never use Sykes again!

Its very unfortunate that the problem here was because of the hot tub lid being very heavy due to absorption of steam. We were having problems getting a replacement from our overseas supplier, this and probably the wet week the guests experienced no doubt dampened all expectations. No concerns other than a fly in the water was brought to my attention during the stay and I know that as a team that we work hard in providing the house in excellent order. As with all properties you do expect some engrained conditions that are not quick fixes and are generally repaired during the winter months when the house is in less use to allow time for sealants to dry etc. A replacement hot tub lid is now in place and other than this negative review I have received many lovely reviews through Airbnb because here guests have to provide reviews. It is not compulsory on other platforms to provide feedback therefore it is these random complaints that always stand out because they are few and far between !! Property Owner
