The property

Llanwddyn 0.5 miles.

A delightful Grade II listed end-terrace, stone cottage enjoying a quiet location in a rural setting close to the small village of Llanwddyn and within a stone’s throw of the popular and beautiful Lake Vyrnwy and Sculpture Park.

Perfectly placed for enjoying the beautiful countryside, walking and cycling this lovely cottage is bound to appeal to couples, friends and families who just want to enjoy each other’s company and generally chill out.

Originally built as a workers cottage during the construction of the nearby Lake Vyrnwy dam, this charming cottage has been successfully renovated and now offers wonderful holiday accommodation.

Every care has been taken to ensure you have a wonderful stay and the cottage is tastefully decorated, in warm greys and pastel tones and styled to a high standard throughout whilst many of the original features and attributes have been retained.

The sitting room is warm and welcoming with slate flooring which extends throughout the ground floor.

There is a lovely inglenook fireplace housing a Clearview woodburner, ideal for those cosier evenings and is just lovely to snuggle up in front of after a day walking on the mountains or one of the many marked footpaths from the cottage.

A well-appointed and equipped classic country cream kitchen with Belfast sink and dining area is a lovely sociable space and caters for all your needs.

Upstairs you’ll find a spacious and modern bathroom with the benefit of a bath and separate shower and two comfortable bedrooms, which are light and airy, with the main bedroom enjoying a sunny aspect and lovely views.

Outside, there is plenty of parking and a rear yard with bike storage and adjacent to the cottage there is a wonderful wooded, natural hillside garden.

Steps leading up to a delightful grassy clearing with picnic bench is a perfect place to dine alfresco or just enjoy a relaxed glass of something chilled, taking in some glorious views across open countryside to the surrounding hills.

During the month of May the garden is awash with a sea of bluebells and the cottage is worth a visit then, just for this wonderful sight!

From the cottage there are some wonderful walks and the world famous Lake Vyrnwy Hotel is a 10 minute walk away and boasting 5-star cuisine and a friendly local pub with bar meals and an excellent choice of ales, so there is no need to even cook!

Lake Vyrnwy is an area of outstanding beauty, offering a good range of countryside pursuits such as sailing, cycling, horse riding and walking, together with an abundance of wildlife, this is truly a splendid area to spend a short break or longer stay if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The sparkling waters and wonderful vistas of Lake Vyrnwy are only a few minutes’ walk away and well worth a visit.

The larger towns of Oswestry and Welshpool are just over a 30 minute drive away, offering a more comprehensive range of amenities and the NT properties of Powis Castle, Chirk Castle, Attingham and Erddig are all within easy reach.

The wonderful sandy beaches of North Wales are within an hour's drive and this lovely cottage provides an ideal base anytime of the year.
