    “Accommodation exactly as seen in photos.”

    Lovely walks from the cottage in the woods. Great location to explore South Wales. We went to Barry Island for the day, which had a good atmosphere, and a day at Llandegfedd Lake Kayaking and walking.

The property

The Cwtch @ Tyn-y-Bettws Farm is a stunning semi-detached cottage near the village of Bettws, Bridgend.

The cottage boasts beautiful original architecture, such as a stone archway and stone spiral staircase, with wooden beams, sloping ceilings and eaves; The Cwtch is a lovely setting for a couples retreat to South Wales.

Entering the cottage, the hallway greets you with a pretty plant wall and rustic wooden beams, before entering the open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area.

Here you can enjoy a winter's night by the woodburning stove, after cooking your favourite hot meal in the well-equipped kitchen area, in this homely setting.

Pulling back an elegant red curtain, you will find the stone spiral staircase with a wooden hand rail, leading you to the king-size bedroom, which also has a double sofa bed, perfect for children; rest up after a long day exploring or freshen up in the en-suite shower room, complete with a heated towel rail for extra warmth.

At the front of The Cwtch, you can enjoy your morning coffee or lunch on the picnic bench, sitting on a gravelled area surrounded by plants and beautiful stone walls.

The cottage is in a great spot nearby to fantastic towns and villages, such as Bridgend in the south, which is a bustling town with plenty of eateries and shops, historical sites such as Newcastle Castle and St. John's House Trust, as well as Newbridge Fields for a day outdoors.

Porthcawl rests a little further south on the coast for a walk along the promenade, a lazy day on the beach or enjoy one of the restaurants in the town centre, or Porthcawl boasts a Watersports Centre for adventurous holiday makers.

Cardiff, the capital of Wales, is a short journey east of The Cwtch, where you will find an abundance of eateries, shops and nightlife to enjoy, the incredible Cardiff Castle, or take a boat ride on Roath Park Lake to see the Victorian lighthouse, weeping willows and bird life.
