“We had a really lovely holiday in Pembrokeshire and Ty Gwyn was a fantastic base for us: three adults, two dogs and a teenager.”

The main draw for us before booking was the large, enclosed garden and stand alone location of the house for the dogs. It proved an excellent choice in this regard and we all enjoyed paddling in a little brook alongside the garden (esp in the heatwave). The cottage is charming if a little small. The advertised images makes it look a lot bigger! Whilst very comfortable, the small cottage style windows make the dining room dark but fortunately, we spent most days eating outside as the weather was great. On the kitchen front, it’s perfectly workable and well equipped, our only recommendation (as we cooked in every day) would be the supply of some decent knives. Overall, the cottage was very clean on arrival, the fixtures and fittings of quality and the two double beds super comfortable. If I were to visit the area again, I’d definitely be happy to return to Ty Gwyn.

The property

Enjoying a rural position on the dramatic moorland at Trefasser, on the way to Pwll Deri and Strumble Head and within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, this cottage has a large garden with stream and lovely views.

The cottage is full of character and retains the traditional feel of a Pembrokeshire cottage but with all modern comforts.

It is situated just a mile from the sea and the coast path, where an abundance of wildlife can be spotted.

The coastal walkers' bus can be flagged down outside the cottage.

Fishguard, Goodwick and St Davids are within an easy drive, where a selection of local shops, pubs, restaurants and art galleries can be found.

About the location

Fishguard 2 miles; Newport 9 miles; St. Davids 15 miles.

Goodwick is a picturesque coastal village overlooking the bay where the twice daily ferries run to Ireland. With a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and a small supermarket, it offers everything you need. The twin town of Fishguard is only two miles away, where you will find more unique shops, a delicatessen, pubs, restaurants and the Last Invasion Tapestry, which is based on the famous Welsh ladies' victory over the French and has been compared to the Bayeux Tapestry. Located in such a great coastal position, the Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire section of the world-famous Welsh coastal path is right on your doorstep, so enjoy the scenic walks, outstandingly beautiful beaches, the opportunity to watch dolphins and seals and so much more! From lazy, warm summer days to wild and windy winter days, the scenery is ever-changing and always remarkable. Historic castles, theme parks, art galleries, kayaking, coasteering and boat trips to the islands are all nearby and St. Davids, the smallest city in the UK, with its magnificent cathedral is a short drive away, while the coastal town of Newport, with its fantastic beach, is closer still. A perfect location all year round.

Note: Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome (additional charge applies) but restricted to downstairs hard floor areas only.
Note: Please bring own beach towels and cot linen.
Note: Second double bed only suitable for one guest as access from one side only.
