“Stunning quiet rural location but also a very short distance from the village, which has a good SPAR shop, petrol station amongst others.”

The cottage itself was beautifully clean, with lots of indoor and outdoor seating areas. The owners have planned the garden well and even it is raining, there was somewhere out of the weather to sit, blankets and candles provided! The kitchen was well equipped, all utensils were super clean, with a good supply of kitchen cloths/scourers etc. A great deal of thought has gone into the little things provided in the cottage, which made our stay very comfortable. WI-FI good! The owners seem to have thought of everything! I would not hesitate recommending the cottage, ideally located for the many walks, inland and coastal with easy access to Cardigan (great coastal path circular walk/5 miles from Poppit Sands and Ferry Inn Pub/Restaurant very good), New Quay (Dolphin spotting), Newport (free parking at the Parrog car park), Fishguard, the National Botanical Gardens (50 mins…try stopping at Forest Arms Brechfa on the way back) or Aberystwyth (steam railway definitely worth going and Devils Bridge gorge walk).

The property

Crymych 1.9 miles.

This beautiful detached dairy conversion is situated in one of the most picturesque locations within the National Park close to the village of Crymych in Pembrokeshire.

Situated in the shadow of the Iron Age hill fort of Foel Drygarn, Old Tethers Barn offers far reaching countryside views over surrounding farmland.

Retaining charm and character, you enter the cottage through the porch door where there is a space to leave your coats and boots after your outdoor walks and a utility/cloakroom with WC and basin.

Step up a small step into a delightful snug, with a slightly sloping floor, where a comfy sofa will be the ideal place to relax with a good book or maybe sit at the writing desk overlooking the open countryside to pen a postcard to friends and family.

A small step up from the snug brings you into the open plan living room which has apex beams and a woodburner for those cooler evenings.

Cook up special meals or prepare a picnic in the well-equipped kitchen to enjoy a choice of eating places.

One step up leads you into the ground floor bedroom and into the family bathroom, where a quick shower or a long relaxing soak in the claw foot bath beckons.

A complete stay here will refresh you, but don't miss the array of days out on the nearby coast with sandy beaches, the famous coast path and boat trips.

Alternatively, visit historic castles or walk on the Preseli Hills, before stepping back in time with a visit to the Shire Horse Centre.

Returning to such a perfect cottage to plan the next day out will be one of the pleasures of your stay in Wales.
