“Mark was super welcoming, the house was absolutely beautiful.”

We had a fantastic stay and would recommend it to anyone. The hot tub is a wonderful touch, it’s so peaceful and tranquil up on the farm. The homemade cake that we had was a great touch- thank you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, it’s a perfect house for friends and family.

The property

Llanfair Caereinion 1 mile.

A delightful detached cottage on the outskirts of the town of Llanfair Caereinion in Powys.

Renovated from a former farmhouse, this stylish cottage offers a peaceful, rural retreat for friends and families to enjoy, with the benefit of a luxurious hot tub boasting breathtaking views across the valley.

As soon as you enter the cottage, you will be impressed with the reception hallway which provides a snug seating area, open fire feature hearth and media TV centre with games console, which the children will want to make use of straight away.

To the right of the hall you will find a spacious kitchen with quartz worktops and a dining area with feature fire and access onto the rear patio, as well as fabulous country views.

The sitting room has double windows and a bi-fold door across the front to open the room to the outside, and when the evening gets cooler, you can settle into the leather sofas in front of the warming woodburner in the sandstone hearth.

Four beautiful bedrooms, two sharing a Jack-and-Jill shower room, are on the first floor, along with a stylish family bathroom.

The farmhouse garden is surrounded by sheep grazing, whilst the hot tub, which is located to the side of the cottage, will provide the perfect place to relax and soak away the aches of the day, perhaps with a glass of wine whilst stargazing into the unspoilt night sky.

Alternatively, guests can relax on the patio which is south-facing and sheltered, a superb sunbathing area.

The town of Llanfair Caereinion is easily accessed from the cottage and offers all you need for a holiday stay with a range of village shops, pubs and restaurants.

Enjoy a trip on the Welshpool and Llanfair steam railway (there is a station in the village) or discover beautiful lakes Vyrnwy and Bala, the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, or trips into beautiful Shropshire.

Whatever the time of year, you’re sure to have a memorable holiday at this superb cottage.

About the location

LLANFAIR CAEREINION

Welshpool 8 miles.

The town of Llanfair Caereinion is built upon the site of an old Roman fort, in the valley of the River Banwy. It is a thriving town built around The Church of St Mary, with a Post Office, two supermarkets, and a selection of three different pubs. The annual Llanfair Caereinion Carnival is very popular with locals, and proceeds through the town with a full parade of floats and dancing troupes, providing a Rio carnival atmosphere. There is a river walk along the banks of the Banwy leading to an Arboretum, containing over 25 different species of British trees, an ideal place to explore before stepping back in time and jumping on the start of the narrow gauge heritage steam railway that runs 8.5 miles west to Welshpool. Welshpool nestles into the upper reaches of the picturesque Severn Valley near the border between Wales and England. This bustling market town is surrounded by rolling hills and glorious unspoilt countryside. There's a unique blend of shops offering arts & crafts, fashion & leisure, fresh produce, and quality pubs and restaurants, as well as the town centre’s restored cock fighting pit and interesting Heritage Trail. Visit the famous 13th Century Powis Castle, and the renowned Dingle Gardens. Enjoy a cruise in the summer sun along the Montgomery Canal or glorious walks and bike rides along National walking trails and the Offa’s Dyke Pathway.
