“As described, it is a large, spacious and well equipped farmhouse.”

My one irritation was that the advertising made no mention of the building site next to the back garden. At around 8am, the cement mixer would start up. Had the weather been hot enough to sit in the back garden, we'd have listened to the builder's radio and their general chat. Once the work is complete, the site will be (once again) very peaceful.

“Panteurig Farmhouse is in a wonderful location, not far from Fishguard but in a peaceful location with beautiful views.”

It has been nicely renovated & benefits from underfloor heating downstairs under the lovely stone floor. The rooms are spacious & simply decorated with traditional furniture. The beds are very comfy. It was all very clean however we did have a bit of an issue with woodlice who were very numerous particularly in the shower room, lounge & main bedroom. The owner (who is lovely & popped round) did provide us with some pest spray. The kitchen is well equipped (although the non-stick pans probably need replacing) & having a downstairs 'boot room ' was brilliant for drying towels & wet weather gear. There was no-one in the attached cottage until our last night which was great as the occupiers that night had 2 dogs & as others have commented there is not much soundproofing between the 2 properties (also the stone floors mean noise echoes). The walks from the property are wonderful- up to Garn Fawr & over to Strumble Head but it is a longer walk to the coastal path than the listing implies. The area is fantastic- so many beautiful beaches & walks. We recommend a boat trip round Ramsey Island (& the Farmers Arms pub in St Davids), the Last Invasion Tapestry in Fishguard, the cafe at Melin Tregwynt & a walk down to Aber Bach beach, and the walk from Abereiddy to Porthgain.

“A lovely holiday home, tucked away down a country lane in a very quiet peaceful location.”

No shops or pubs nearby though. Only a short distance from the coast offering stunning scenery. Cottage was very spacious, for once didn't have to duck our heads in every room we went into! The wifi was very poor though, which was a problem for us, maybe get a booster, apart from that, lovely big rooms and a nice big garden. The owner was lovely and we enjoyed chatting with her about the area.

“Absolutely loved the location, so secluded and perfect for walking and following the coastal path.”

A nearby cove enabled daily swimming, about 1 hour walk from the farmhouse over the hill toward the lighthouse. The house was beautifully warm despite the gusty winds outside. Lovely garden, though we had dogs and as not fully enclosed kept them on the lead. We were lucky and had no one next door in the adjoining 2 annex. It would be perfect for renting both properties for a family get together. Very friendly owner, happy to be contacted at anytime, not that we needed to. Would love to go back, thank you.

“The owner was friendly, lovely location and good for visiting different parts of Pembrokeshire.”

However, the general noise from the next door cottage was intrusive. We were looking to get away for a quiet break; the couple next door were not excessively noisy but we could hear their conversations, tv and general kitchen noise (which also upset our young dog). The stairs were particularly loud. It’s a shame it was t made clear in the description that the 2 properties could be interconnecting as we would have booked elsewhere. I’m sure it was the same for the couple staying next to us. We tried to ask the children to be as quiet as they could; again not what we wanted on our holiday. After booking I did note a few reviews on other websites about this problem a d the owner mentioned it herself when I rang about key collection. So she is obviously aware of it but it was too late by then for us. I suspect they aren’t usually rented out at the same time until recently, due to the increased demand with everyone staying at in the UK. We would return if the other cottage wasn’t being rented as the area is beautiful.

“Excellent walks on bridal ways close to the farm The property was spacious and had everything to meet our needs.”

The garden was superb - only noises you could hear were birds chirping and the occasional farm vehicle getting in their hay. A great property to get away and relax in. If you needed TV you could get all the main channels and wi fi was good.

“The owner, Olwen, could not have been more helpful.”

She was available at the end of the phone throughout. A beautiful spot with lots of lovely dog walks nearby. The local eating places were very booked up because of the pandemic restrictions so we largely ate in, but had some memorable crab sandwiches. Parking is very cheap at beaches and in towns compared to other holiday destinations in the UK. Cardigan was a good day out and, of course, St Davids. The surf at Newgale beach was worth the drive.

The property

This spacious farmhouse is near Garn Fawr, a huge rocky outcrop above Pwllderi in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

From the top of Garn Fawr you can see down to St Davids, across to the Preseli Hills and even over to Ireland on a very clear day.

Nearby Strumble Head is stunningly beautiful and a great place for walking and watching wildlife including seals, porpoises, dolphins and migrating birds.

Goodwick and Fishguard are 10 minutes by car and offer shops, restaurants and pubs.

St Davids, with its magnificent cathedral and Newport, with its lovely beaches, are both well worth visiting for their selection of individual shops, eateries and galleries and each are within a half hour drive.

If you like walking, there are 186 miles of coastal path to enjoy and the coastal bus service passes close by.

You can walk right from the house along the bridleway/footpath to the coast if you prefer.

The Farmhouse dates back to 1795 and retains charm and character with all the modern comforts you could want.
