Cottages in Powys

With plenty of choice and a variety of things to do in Powys, you won't be bored! Take a guided walk around the amazing hills and mountains, indulge in Welsh history in a range of museums or hire a kayak to explore the Elan Valley.

West Wales has a range of cottages located close to popular villages, towns and cities. Whilst visiting, make sure to go to the quirky market town of Machynlleth. Located in the Dyfi Valley and famous for its annual comedy fest, this rural town is home to a great choice of local cafes, galleries and a lovely Welsh market every Wednesday.

Our Powys accommodation is situated in some of Mid Wales best adventure areas. With options like hiking the well-known Beacons Way walk, fishing for brown trout or salmon on the River Usk or for a real adrenaline thrill, try mountain biking in Talgarth in the Brecon beacons.

For a more relaxing and site seeing trip, Carmarthenshire is where you will find the National Botanical Garden of Wales or jump on board the Gwili steam rail to see this beautiful part of Powys by rail. Don't forget to get your bucket and spades out when visiting, the 8-mile long beach of Pembry is well worth a visit.

Places to visit from your Powys Holiday Cottage

Our Powys self-catering cottages are located in popular must-visit destinations in Mid Wales and Carmarthenshire.

Take the plunge on your holiday to Carmarthenshire and have a try at white water rafting. The local company Adventure Beyond has all the equipment and guides you need to get stuck in and enjoy the exhilarating waters of the Teifi River. For a slower-paced activity, the town of Carmarthen hosts insightful historic walks that will educate you on this lovely part of the world. Perhaps you aim to visit the British Bird of Prey centre that's only a short drive away.

On your way to Powys enter Mid Wales on the Cambrian Way. This popular drive is a great place to spot supercars but also to enjoy the winding roads through forests and small rural Welsh villages. Wherever you are in Mid Wales, keep an eye out for a Red Kite. These magnificent bird of prey have found their home in this part of Wales and can usually be identified with their impressive tail feathers high in the sky.
